I always get excited when the pumpkins come into the shops in October. It's all too short a season for me! We bought two huge ones and so far we've made pumpkin pie, roast pumpkin and roasted pumpkin seeds. I've found a recipe for pumpkin jam that I want to try and I think I'm also going to make this pumpkin butter recipe from A Beautiful Mess. My hair started off curly on the day I took these photos but the damp in the air had caused it to drop out completely by about lunch time. I'm just going to pretend it was intentional.

  1. Beautiful!! Are you planning on carving it too? I haven't yet decided whether I will try my hand at pumpkin carving this year :P

    1. No, we don't usually carve them because there's not really anything left once you've used all the flesh for cooking with! We used to carve them as children but these days I prefer to make them into pie etc :)

  3. Such charming autumn shots! We bought a few pumpkins last Thursday at a nearby (it's about 30-35 minutes from our house) farmer's produce stand, but since we're going to be celebrating Halloween at my parents' house, took them over there straight away (especially to keep our dog, Annie, from trying to eat them!), so I'll have to wait until Halloween in all likelihood to follow your lead and pose holding a pumpkin of my own. I'm so looking forward to the big day - just two more "sleeps" to go! :)
